The Outer Banks may be almost as much about food as it is about the beach. It is said there are more restaraunt seats in Dare County than there are permanent residents and a quick survey of the great places to eat makes me believe it may be true. If one of the great joys of any Outer Banks vacation is a great meal out. Just as important is fixing great meals at your cottage, so we will cover that too This portion of our guides deals with eating. Where to eat, what to eat and where to get what you eat. There are several elements to this page. We start with Carole and Bob's top places to eat, Then we discuss shopping for food on the Outer Banks and finally provide a list of food related Outer Banks WWW sites inlcuding restauant reviews and web sites. This is not a list of the best restaurants on the beach. We will address that later. The places on this list are the ones my wife and I enjoy. We believe you will as well. They are generally not pretentious, feature nice people serving good food. Here is a list of our top 5 places for each meal with a few thoughts about each one.
